SO busy, how about you?

Just checking in to let you know I have not forgotten about my blog- I have just been beyond busy lately. I can't wait till things slow down- hopefully by next week- then I will be able to get some posts typed up and out to update you on what has been keeping me SO very busy!

Last night marked the arrival of a sweet grandson- momma was at 37 weeks and baby was just over 5 pounds. Had a few issues with his lungs and they put him in NICU. We are hoping he passes his tests to be released from there soon. Please keep this in your prayers.

There is so much more going on but I am very tired and I need to sign off of the computer and start getting ready for bed.

I hope you all are doing well. Hope to get back to putting up posts for you. I do have some ideas and have been writing them down - so when I have some down time I can start getting them written up.

Sure Remedy for the Disheartened...

"For the disheartened there is a sure remedy - faith, prayer, work. Faith and activity will impart assurance and satisfaction that will increase day-by-day. Are you tempted to give way to feelings of anxious foreboding or utter despondency? In the darkest days, when appearances seem most forbidding, fear not. Have faith in God. He knows your need. He has all power. His infinite love and compassion never weary. Fear not that He will fail of fulfilling His promise. He is eternal truth. Never will He change the covenant He has made with those who love Him. And He will bestow upon His faithful servants the measure of efficiency that their need demands. The apostle Paul testified: 'He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: For My strength is made perfect in weakness... Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecution, and, in distresses for Christ sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.' 2nd Corinthians 12:9,10."

Tiny Gems of Encouragement

"Not by eloquence or logic are men's hearts reached, but by the sweet influences of the Holy Spirit, which operate quietly yet surely in transforming and developing character. It is the still, small voice of the Spirit of God that has power to change the heart." PK169

No Distinction....

"No distinction on account of nationality, race, or caste, is recognized by God. He is maker of all mankind. All men are of one family by creation, and all are one through redemption. Christ came to demolish every wall of partition, to throw open every compartment of the temple courts, that every soul may have free access to God. His love is so broad, so deep, so full, that it penetrates everywhere. It lifts out of satan's influence those who have been deluded by his deceptions, and places them within reach of the throne of God, the throne encircled by the rainbow of promise. In Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, bond nor free." PK369-370

Freebie Friday ....It's THAT Time Of Year!

I love having calendars- whether they are hanging on the wall or a planner at my desk. It makes it so much easier to keep up with appointments and such when I have my calendars.

So when I was walking out of a Nutrition store a couple of weeks ago - I noticed a stand where they had 2 different wall calendars to choose from. I picked this one because I love flowers and gardens.

When I got home and was looking through the photos - I realized that the middle section had a page of stickers to use with the calendar! What a bonus! It feels good to have a wall calendar just waiting for the day that it goes on the wall!!

You may want to keep a look out at businesses in your area to see if they may be giving calendars away! Free is always awesome!!

What Makes the Victory all the Greater?

"God was the strength of Judah in this crisis, and He is the strength of His people today. We are not to trust in princes, or to set men in the place of God. We are to remember that human beings are fallible and erring, and that He who has all power is our strong tower of defense. In every emergency we are to feel that the battle is His. His resources are limitless, and apparent impossibilities will make the victory all the greater." PK202

My Best Deal

It had been over a week since I had made it to my favorite little thrift shop. So on Tuesday morning I was made a point to stop by. And boy I was I glad I did! Especially when I saw these Tupperware items!!

I love this huge yellow bowl that has a lid that still fits perfectly! And the little Tupperware containers were like new! I love this size containers and even though I had at least 5-6 at home - I grabbed them up as well! I grabbed the extra lid because not all of my containers at home had lids.

I am not positive at how good of a deal I got on this container but I got 4 other things and paid 6.77 for the lot! So my guess is that she only charged me $2. or $3. She was having a half price sale - but I hadn't noticed the signs. I will have to pay better attention when I go shopping there. She has started putting the signs in an odd spot and if you walk up to the store a different way, you miss the signs. Anyway I got some great deals and I am so thankful! I would love to hear about great deals you have found!! :)

Freebie Friday

Well we are in luck - I have a freebie Friday item that I want to share - plus I have a little bit of free time to get a post written up to share! Plus I have a Freebie Friday to post next week as well. I just hope I can get time to get it written up.

About a week ago or so when I was at my favorite little thrift store - in the freebie box I found a pile of these books. I grabbed them, of course, for the grandchildren!

I figured that they would be half used. When I got home I went through them and only about 4 of the pile were written in the others were in new condition! So it was a win!! And I will have some fun books for the grands to play in when they are around!!

Be sure and come back on Sunday when I will share "My Best Deal." I can't wait to share this one with you!

A Great Story

Today I wanted to share a link to a great story that a friend of mine wrote. There are many lessons in this story for us all. May you be blessed as you read this STORY

What a Blessing?!

Today I wanted to share a blessing that happened last week.

Monday morning when I went out to my car, with a long list of things I wanted to accomplish while out and about, but my car wouldn't start. Later that day my husband figured out that the battery was the issue and was able to replace It after a bit of trouble finding a battery.

So how was that a blessing?

Tuesday morning I was slated to take my mother in law to an appointment. I am so thankful that if my battery was going to go out, that it went out at home, on a day that I could easily change my plans. What a blessing! 🌺

Digging Deeper into the book of Psalms... chapter 7

While reading through Chapter 7 of Psalms, verse 15 grabbed my attention.

"He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made." KJV

It reminded me of another verse in the Bible that mentions a pit.

"He lifted me out of the watery pit,

out of the slimy mud.

He placed my feet on a rock

And gave me secure footing."

Psalms 40:2 NET Bible

In Ps. 7:15 it is speaking of someone deliberately digging a pit in order to trap something or someone else, but it was actually the one who dug the pit that would fall in.

Did you know that this idea is spoken of elsewhere in the Bible?  I didn't until I was digging deeper.

"Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein; and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
Proverbs 26:27

"He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him. "
Ecclesiastes 10:8

If you would like to look up a few more verses that mention this idea:

  • Psalms 9:15
  • Psalms 10:2
  • Proverbs 28:10
We need to be aware that if we do things to harm others, we ourselves could very well be the one that ends up in the pit.

As I was gathering the verses for this study I realized another important thing for us to remember- If we end up in a pit- no matter if it was our own doing or not - we can call on the LORD.

"I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined unto me, and heard my cry:
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings."
Psalms 40:1-2 KJV

Digging Deeper into the Book of Psalms....chapter 6

Have you ever prayed about a person or circumstance and just didn't seem to get an answer? Well you are not alone. In Psalms 6 verse 3 we see the question "how long?" David has been struggling and praying yet he had not seen an answer to his prayer and so he asks, "how long?" It's not the only time he will ask.

If you want to check out some other places in the Bible that he asks this question in the book of Psalms:

  • Psalms 13:1-2
  • Psalms 35:17
  • Psalms 74:10
  • Psalms 79:5
  • Psalms80:4
  • Psalms 82:2
  • Psalms 89:46
  • Psalms 90:13
  • Psalms 94:3
As I went through these references I noticed there are different questions, not just wondering when the prayers would be answered. It's alright to ask God questions. many times when we are frustrated and upset we begin to ask many questions. God can handle our questions and He still loves us.

When looking up the references, I also noticed something else important- After David asked the Lord, "How long?" He always had at least one praise to the Lord after his question.

When David was frustrated and upset, he would go to the Lord in prayer. He would share his feelings and sometimes he asked God questions, but if you continue to read David's words you will always find his feelings transforming into trust in God and praising Him for His faithfulness. Even when David didn't see an answer for his prayer yet he would recount things in his past in which the Lord had answered His prayers and he knew that he could trust Him!

Important things for us to remember:
  • When we are frustrated and upset we need to take these things to God in prayer
  • It's OK to ask God questions
  • Remember God's faithful to us in the past
  • Praise Him - there is always something to praise Him for!

The Story of Redemption.....11

“In the deliverance of Israel from Egypt, God plainly showed His distinguished mercy to His people before all the Egyptians. God saw fit to execute His judgments upon Pharaoh, that he might know by sad experience, since he would not otherwise be convinced, that His power was superior to all others. That His name might be declared throughout all the earth, He would give exemplary and demonstrative proof to all nations of His divine power and justice. It was the design of God that these exhibitions of power should strengthen the faith of His people, and that their posterity should steadfastly worship Him alone who had wrought such merciful wonders in their behalf.” The Story of Redemption, Pg. 90

Digging Deeper into the book of Psalms....chapter 5

This weeks study is found in Psalms 5. Psalms 4 is said to be an "evening prayer" and chapter 5 a "morning prayer." It seems appropriate that the prayers should be listed in this order since we know that the Sabbath day begins at sunset on Friday. So an evening prayer first and then a morning prayer seems logical.

There were a lot of interesting things in this chapter but we are doing to be focusing more on verses 11 and 12.

11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.12 For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

Psalms 5:11-12

"Those that trust in God ever have an occasion for joy!"

Be joyful in thee~
"The devout Christian will rejoice in all God has revealed of Himself. He finds his joy in God, in contemplating the attributes and the evidences of His love, in communion with Him, and in loving service for Him."

The word shield in the Hebrew suggests " a large shield that is said to have covered the whole body... As the shield is thrown around the soldier in the day of battle, so God gives complete protection to the righteous. The psalms closes with the psalmists avowal of perfect trust in God's complete protection."

"Let us give to God the morning of our days and the mornings of our lives. Prayer should be the key of the day and the lock of the night. Devotion should be both the morning star and the evening star. If we start the day right, we shall be more aware of God's presence through its hours, and surer of coming to our beds at night with quietness and confidence in our hearts."
~ Spurgeon

"There is no better habit than the habit of morning prayer, when alone with God the soul prepares to discharge the duties and meet the problems of the unknown day."

Best Deal

So can you believe it not only was I able to share a Freebie Friday post but now here I am able to share with you about the best deal I got last week!

A couple of weeks ago while my granddaughter was here - I asked her what size her boots were? I was wanting to buy her a new pair of tennis shoes for school. She said the boots were a size 6. Well it was a good thing that I verified the size with her dad. He told me she was wearing a 7 1/2. He said she likes the boots so much she just keep wearing them. Well I knew then I had to find her some great boots. But after buying new shoes for school - I needed to find a good deal on the boots. So I have been looking when i go to thrift stores.

When I went to the little thrift store in a town nearby (the same one that I got the freebie Friday things from) I looked through their shoes. Ever so often I see cute shoes but rarely are they sized to fit me or granddaughter. So imagine my surprise when I found these awesome boots - and not only are they cute as can be - but they are a size 7 1/2!!!

These boots only cost me $3.00!!

Please ignore the clutter in the back ground. Oh by the vest over the chair is the other awesome deal I got. An Old Navy vest for my granddaughter as well. I believe it is brand new - because I found the tag for the vest in it's pocket - it had been like 32.99 new - I paid $4.00! Another awesome deal! I just can see paying $30 something dollars for something that the child will outgrow.

I am SO thankful to God for providing this need for my granddaughter. I can't wait to give them to her. By the time you read this she will have them. And I am sure these will be her new favorite boots!!

Freebie Friday

Yay! I have a post for Freebie Friday today! I know it's been a while. So this week I was able to check out the little thrift store in a town nearby and in their "Free" boxes out front - I found these awesome metal trays!!!

I loved them when I first saw them! I didn't know what I would do with them, but I knew I loved them!
I was so glad that I decided to grab them up and take them home!

So when I start my plants inside - I put the little containers on cookie sheets and then place those on my shelves, but these trays will work even better. Not only they are prettier than my cookies sheets but it will free up my cookies sheets to be used in the kitchen, where they belong. I have plenty of cookie sheets - the benefit from working at a bakery for year. When the bakery closed down - I inherited several of the great cookie sheets that we used there!

So now I have these beautiful trays to place my seedling trays on and put them on my shelving units! And these beautiful patterns will brighten my day each time I am working in the sunroom!

Have you gotten anything free lately? I would love to hear about it! :O)

8 years ago today - I had the surgery that saved my life. Unbeknownst to us - medical team included- a serious medical situation lay under the surface and it was vitally important that this surgery be handled in certain ways. But like I said - we had no idea. In the testing that took place after the surgery - Cancer was found! I was so thankful that God led in the decisions that were made during this time. God led me in the right direction- with me not realizing how important these choices were.

So today I praise God not only for leading during that time, but also for His continued care for me over the last 8 years! All glory goes to God!! He is not only my Creator and my Redeemer, He is also my Sustainer!

The Story of Redemption....10

“By moving Pharaoh to destroy the male children, Satan thought to turn aside the purposes of God and destroy the one whom God would raise up to deliver His people. But that very decree, appointing the Hebrew children to death, was the means God overruled to place Moses in the royal family, where he had advantages to become a learned man and eminently qualified to lead his people from Egypt.” The Story of Redemption, Pg. 85

Digging Deeper into the book of Psalms....chapter 4

So in chapter 4 of Psalms a single word stood out to me~  "Both" in the last verse of chapter 4. I think it is really neat how one word can have a powerful meaning and this is what we have when we see the word "both" in this verse.

It says "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep." So when we are stressed we may lay down but we probably lay awake for a while because we are stressed. But David here shares that he has put his trust in God so he is able to lay down and sleep in peace. What a blessing!!

We need to learn this lesson from David. We need to put out trust in God and that way when we are stressed we will be able to both lay down and sleep. This truly is a blessing. May you be blessed!

Sunday, November 14, 2021

I am so sorry I have had only the basic posts lately but things have been very busy around here. You know how it is when you think things are about to slow down something happens and throws a wrench into your plans.

I have been so thankful for the more fall like weather and then, of course another "heat wave" has arrived for Monday through Wed. Then if the weather report is correct - then Wednesday it will cool off again to be fall again.

Sabbath morning - I was a bit disappointed that we had our first frost of the year and you can see it in several of my plants - yellow squash, butternut squash plants and my green bean plants. The next 10 days look like we will stay above freezing. I sure hope so. I have a lot of cherry tomatoes on my plants that I would love to see them get closer to being ready before having to pick them! I am thankful for my plants that like cold weather so I can enjoy a few plants continuing to grow in my garden.

I am hoping to have a best deal to share with you all but we will have to see. :O)

The Story of Redemption....9

“Joseph walked with God. He would not be persuaded to deviate from the path of righteousness and transgress God’s law, by any inducement or threats. His self-control and patience in adversity and his unwavering fidelity are left on record for the benefit of all who should afterward live on the earth. When Joseph’s brothers acknowledged their sin before him, he freely forgave them and showed by his acts of benevolence and love that he harbored no resentful feelings for their former cruel conduct toward him.”

Digging Deeper into the book of Psalms ...chapter 3

So by now you have probably noticed that I am doing a series on the book of Psalms. I am reading each chapter and doing a in depth study of that chapter. And I am sharing just little tidbits of what stands out to me at the time. There are some many wonderful gems- that it would take several lifetimes to cover them all. So for this series - I will just be picking out what really stood out to me in each chapter.

This week we are looking at chapter 3 of Psalms.

As I read through chapter three we see that many are rising up against David and that he cried out to the Lord vs. 4. David realized that prayer can change things. So he prayed and then slept.

[f]I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the Lord sustains me

Psalms 3:5

"The first waking thought is one of recognition that God had honored the trust placed in Him."

"The last thoughts of the night are often the first thoughts of the day."

Because of this how important it must be that we spend out last moments of the day in prayer and thinking on God's Word.

The Lord’s lovingkindnesses [a]indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
23
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23

What perfect timing to find this magnet in the freebie box!
I think that because Thanksgiving comes in November that we are more inclined to give thanks this month. But really we should always be giving thanks. We had so much to be thankful for.

No matter what happens God will never leave us or forsake us!! Praise be to God!!

The Story of Redemption....8

“All night Jacob wrestled with the angel, making supplication for a blessing. . .Jacob was determined to hold the angel, not by physical strength, but by the power of living faith. . .The angel might have exercised his supernatural power and forced himself from Jacob’s grasp, but he did not choose to do this. When he saw that he prevailed not against Jacob, the angel touched Jacob’s thigh, which was immediately put out of joint. But Jacob would not give up his earnest efforts even for bodily pain. . .His determination was stronger in the last moments of the conflict than at the beginning. . .Jacob’s earnest, persevering wrestling with the angel should be an example for Christians. . .All who desire the blessing of God and will lay hold of the promises and be as earnest and persevering as Jacob was, will succeed as he succeeded. . .Those who do not make strong efforts now to exercise persevering faith, will be wholly unprepared to exercise that faith which will enable them to stand in the day of trouble.” The Story of Redemption, Pgs. 74, 77-78

Matchless Charms.....8

"Jesus was the living law. He was not a description of the character of God as was the 10 commandments on tables of stone, but a demonstration. He is the law personified; walking, breathing, talking in our humanity. While it is the same law as the law written on stone, how different it is when seen in Jesus."

A Surprise Visitor

One day last week I was on my back porch working on up potting some collard greens, swiss chard, and butter crunch lettuce. All of a sudden something jumped into one of my plastic totes!

I have never seen something like this in my back yard! It was such a surprise.
I thought I would be nice and put him down.

Apparently he was not going to have it ....the next thing I knew he was climbing up the leg of the chair next to me. Headed back to where he had been.... lol
What an awesome surprise and an "I love you!" from God!!!

Digging Deeper into the book of Psalms ....Ps 2

"All men, of all ages, climes, and nations, have sinned and need a Savior. Blessed are they who recognize their need and put their trust in the Messiah."

Speaking of this verse:
"Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him." Ps. 2:12b

There is great need for us today to put our trust in God. These are some evil days we are living in. Jesus is coming soon. Over the last 2 years it has become even more evident that His coming in nearer than ever before. And trusting in God is our safe place! In the Bible the phrase - "trust in Him" or a similar type phrase is found many, many times; showing just how important it is!

What Makes an Evergreen Christian?

In Psalms chapter one - the those who "delight in the law of the LORD" are said to be "like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season..." So today I wanted to share a quote that expounded on this idea:

"What makes an Evergreen Christian?  ~ Seek to be an evergreen tree. Wear the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. Cherish the grace of love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. This is the fruit of the Christian tree. (otherwise known as "the fruit of the Spirit") Planted by the rivers of water, it always brings forth its fruit in due season. MS 39 ~ written in 1896

The Story of Redemption.....7

So thankful that Fall has finally arrived! It came in with a thunderstorm in which we got 1/2 of a inch of rain. That was wonderful- I love it when my garden is watered for FREE! And I love weather that is so mild that you can adjust the temperature in your home - by opening and shutting windows- no electricity needed for AC or heating. It's my favorite kind of weather!

Now onto the regularly scheduled post for today:

“The Lord commanded that His people should not intermarry with idolaters, lest they be led into idolatry. . .Abraham was anxious to have a wife for Isaac who would not lead him from God. He committed this matter to his faithful servant. Abraham required his servant to make a solemn oath that he would not take a wife for Isaac of the Canaanites, but that he would go to Abraham’s kindred, who believed in the true God. . .The servant prayed earnestly for God to direct him. . .Isaac had been trained in the fear of God to a life of obedience. So when he was forty years old he submitted to have his father’s servant choose for him a wife. He believed God would direct him. Isaac’s case is an example for children in later generations to imitate. The course which Abraham pursued in the education of Isaac is recorded for the benefit of parents. They should instruct their children to yield to, and respect, their authority. And they should feel that a responsibility rests upon them to guide the affections of their children, that they may be placed upon persons who their judgment would teach them would be suitable companions for their sons and their daughters.”

~The Story of Redemption Pgs. 66-68

I have to say that this is a tall order - one in which I don't think I succeeded in but I guess that the truth is as parents we do the best we can do - I mean we are only human after all and then pray and ask God to fill in the short comings.

Digging Deeper into the book of Psalms

"Outwardly, the tree appears to be held prisoner; in reality, it is free, grows, bears fruit. Outwardly, the chaff appears to be free; in reality, it is a slave to environment. The Christian, attached to God, his source of life and strength, grows and produces fruit; the chaff, unattached, cut off from its source of strength, produces nothing. It has a freedom not worth possessing."

Speaking of the tree and the chaff mentioned in Psalm 1~ Let's be trees!

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers:
2 But his delight is in the law of Jehovah; And on his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the streams of water, That bringeth forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also doth not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The wicked are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For Jehovah knoweth the way of the righteous; But the way of the wicked shall perish.
Psalm 1

My Best Deal

This week my best deal is this cookbook!!
I have not actually tried any recipes in this cookbook yet -but it was still a great deal for me if for no other reason than this one page in the cookbook:
I had been having some issues with my bread lately - like the last year or so. And I could not figure out what the issue was. But when I read through this one page I realized there were a couple things I was not doing right. The second point - being the most important thing I needed to do - develop the gluten. This week I made bread and I used that method and I was SO much happier with my bread. I put things in a little different order than I should have so I look forward to the next time I make bread - and the results.

I am sharing this page- the page that helped me tremendously in order to maybe help you in your endeavors to make bread!

So I paid $1.50 for this cookbook! I thought that was an alright deal - but when I discovered this page - I knew it was my best deal for the week - For sure!!!

Best deals are not always the cheapest thing you can find - sometimes the best deal is the quality of the item you get!!

Fall or Not

Sorry - I do not have any freebie Friday items. But thought I would drop by and say Hello! I hope you all are doing well. Things here have been going pretty good. I have been busy. Can you believe I had to mow my yard yesterday. Yes, a majority was just some tall weeds here and there - but still- I think that Nov 2nd is the latest I have had to mow before - and there certainly is the chance I will have to mow again.

We had a bit of a taste of fall the end of last week but we have gotten back into the 80's and it looks it will that way till possibly Wednesday. But it looks that Fall will arrive again on Thursday! I am looking forward to that for sure. I love it when I am able to regulate the temperature in the house by opening up and shutting windows- and no need for AC or heating. That is my favorite time of the year!

The Story of Redemption...6

“Three days Abraham traveled with his son, having sufficient time to reason and doubt God. But he did not distrust God. . . Abraham believed that God meant just what He said when He bade him to go offer Isaac as a burnt offering. . .Abraham believed that God, who in His providence had given Sarah a son in her old age, and who had required him to take that son’s life, could also give life again and bring up Isaac from the dead. . .As they came to the place which God had pointed out to Abraham, he built an altar. . .Isaac had been taught implicit obedience to his father, and he loved and reverenced the God of his father. . .After affectionately embracing his father, he submitted to be bound and laid upon the wood. As his father’s hand was raised to slay his son, an angel called to him out of heaven. . . Abraham, by his faithfulness redeemed his lack of perfect trust in God. . .After the exhibition of Abraham’s faith and confidence, God renewed His promise to him.” The Story of Redemption, Pgs. 63-64

Matchless Charms....6

"The earth was dark through misapprehension of God. That the gloomy shadows might be lightened, that the world might be brought back to God, Satan's deceptive power was to be broken. This could not be done by force. The exercise of force is contrary to the principles of God's government; He desires only the service of love, and love cannot be commanded; it cannot be won by force or authority. Only by love is love awakened. To know God is to love Him; His character must be manifested in contrast to the character of Satan. This work only one Being in all the universe could do. Only He who knew the height and depth of the love of God could make it known. Upon the world's dark night the Sun of Righteousness must rise, 'with healing in His wings.' Malachi 4:2" DA22

Freebie Friday

So when I got my beautiful "L" I also got this corkboard!
It looks to be in brand new condition. With a tag from Target - but did not have the price on it.
It is about 15X13 inches or so.

I don't know where I will put it - but think I may use it in my greenhouse.

The Story of Redemption....5

“God gave all an opportunity to repent, but they didn’t believe the preaching of Noah. They mocked his warnings and ridiculed the building of that immense vessel. Noah’s efforts to reform his fellow men did not succeed. But for more than one hundred years he persevered in his efforts. . . Animals peacefully and solemnly marched into the ark. . .The world looked on with wonder--some with fear, but they had become so hardened by rebellion that this most signal manifestation of God’s power had but a momentary influence upon them. . .Seven days the family of Noah were in the ark before the rain began to descend upon the earth. . .These were days of blasphemous merriment by the unbelieving multitude who thought, because the prophecy of Noah was not fulfilled immediately, that he was deceived and that it was impossible that the world could be destroyed by a flood. . .Others were frantic with fear, stretching their hands toward the ark, pleading for admittance. But God had closed the door and shut Noah in and the ungodly out. . .Their fear and repentance came too late. . . They called upon Him earnestly, but His ear was not open to their cry. . .For every manifestation of God’s mercy and love toward us, the first act of all should be to render to Him grateful thanks and humble worship. . .The symbol of the rainbow in the clouds is to confirm the belief of all, and establish their confidence in God that although He had been provoked to destroy the earth, His mercy still encompasses the earth.” The Story of Redemption, Pgs. 51-54, 56

Matchless Charms....5

"Righteousness is holiness, likeness to God, and "God is love," 1 John 4:16. It is conformity to the law of God, for "all thy commandments are righteousness" (Psalms 119: 172), and "love is the fulfilling of the law," (Romans 13:10). Righteousness is love, and love is the light and the life of God. The righteousness of God is embodied in Christ. We receive righteousness by receiving Him." MB18

A Painting Project

So I was in need of a decoration that was black and tall to put on our computer stand.
And I had looked and looked and could not find anything. But found this cute candle holder.
So I bought it and got some black spray paint.

It took several coats of black spray paint to cover all the green paint.

I think it turned out quite nice!! :O)

My Best Deal

On the same day that I got my Freebie Friday "L" I found the best deal I have gotten in a LONG time!!!
Up until the last year - I would find great tupperware pieces here and there but since 2020 I have not had any luck at all, that is until last week!

So I found a Tupperware That's a Bowl! Yay! Well when I found it, it did not have it's lid. I had also found a box of 8 pint sized canning jars- for $2.00! That was a great deal too! Anyway I had picked up the jars and the bowl and I was in line to check out. And all of a sudden I thought I better go look for the lid. I know what it looks like so it should be easy to find if they have it. And sure enough they had a box with about 6-8 lids - and there was the lid for the That's a Bowl!! Yay!! I was so excited! They were having a 50% sale and so I got this bowl for $1.50!!! What a DEAL!! One of my favorite deals for sure!!! And it is in excellent shape!!

Have you gotten any great deals lately? I would love to hear about them!! :)

Freebie Friday

I just love it when I find awesome things in the freebie box at the thrift store. And last week I really lucked out. I found this beautifully decorated "L" that has a Hobby Lobby tag on the back of $19.99

I may eventually put it somewhere else - but this is the only place that I could put it right now.
So this is something that I may not have bought - had they had a price tag on it. But for free - I
love it!
I got one more things but will wait to share it next week because I still have another post or two to type up and not a whole lot of time. So keep checking back. :O)

The Story of Redemption....4

"God’s people will separate themselves from the unrighteous practices of those around them and will seek for purity of thought and holy conformity to God's will. . .While they endeavor to instruct and warn the world, they will not conform to the spirit and customs of unbelievers. . .Enoch’s translation to heaven just before the destruction of the world by the flood represents the translation of all the living righteous prior to the earth's destruction by fire. The saints will be glorified in the presence of those who have hated them for their loyal obedience to God’s righteous commandments."

Matchless Charms....4

"What kind of person is this who 1st loves me and leads in reconciliation when He is the one who has been wronged and I am the wrong doer? It is as I see Jesus in this act of pardon for me, individually, that I began to view for the 1st time that beauty of character that has been termed "matchless charms." Then I am so attracted to Him, so happy, so satisfied, so peaceful, that I never want to leave Him. It is then that I gladly welcome Him as a heavenly guest into my heart. Most amazing is that He desires and wants to be with me. I can hardly believe it!" Just another little tidbit about justification. Such a beautiful way to look at it!

Hello! :O)

Just checking in to let you know that I will have a Freebie Friday post and a Best Deal post for this week I will just have to get them written up. Sorry I have been missing in action. We had a wedding to go to this post week end and I had to find something to wear to it - which took quite some time. But it led me to another post that will be coming up soon so be looking forward to that.

I hope you all are doing well. I am doing pretty good - except for a knee injury- that I have reinjured several times. I forget about it and move my knee wrong and it HURTS! But thankfully I can still walk and get around most of the time without too much pain.

Blessings to you all. May God bless you and keep you.

The Story of Redemption....3

"Through Christ a door of hope was opened, that man should not be under the absolute control of Satan. Faith in the merits of the Son of God so elevates man that he can resist the devices of Satan." Never think that you have reached a place of hopelessness. You have never gone too far for God to forgive you. There's nothing that this world can give you that can compare with the love, joy, peace, patience, forgiveness, hope, grace, and comfort that God gives so freely. Won't you give your life to Him today? He's waiting for you with open arms. He knows everything about you and He loves you just the same. There's no one else that compares to Him. Let Him come into your heart. You will never regret that you did. The Story of Redemption, Pgs. 37, 39-40

Matchless Charms....3

"It is not necessary for us deliberately to choose the service of the kingdom of darkness in order to come under its dominion. We have only to neglect to ally ourselves with the kingdom of light. If we do not cooperate with the heavenly agency's, Satan will take possession of the heart, and will make it his abiding place. The only defense against evil is the indwelling of Christ in the heart through faith in His righteousness. Unless we become vitally connected with God, we can never resist the unhallowed effects of self-love, self-indulgence, and temptation to sin. We may leave off many bad habits, for the time we may part company with Satan; but without a vital connection with God, through the surrender of ourselves to Him moment by moment, we shall be overcome. Without a personal acquaintance with Christ, and a continual communion, we are at the mercy of the enemy, and shall do his bidding in the end." DA324

"Therefore the indwelling of Christ and righteousness by faith are again tied together and are presented here as an explanation of each other."

The Story of Redemption ....2

"Eve separated from her husband. . .When she became aware of the fact she felt that there might be danger, but again she thought herself secure. She had wisdom and strength to know if evil came, and to meet it. This the angels had cautioned her not to do. . .She was startled to hear a serpent speak. . .She was amazed, for she knew that God had not given the power of speech to the serpent. . .Eve’s curiosity was aroused. Instead of fleeing from the spot, she listened. . .That strange voice should have driven her to her husband’s side. . .But instead she entered into a controversy with the serpent. . . Satan’s special work is to lead men to pry into the secrets of the Almighty and to not be satisfied with what God has revealed, and to not be careful to obey what God has commanded. . . It was not God's will that Adam and Eve should have any knowledge of evil. He had freely given them good but withheld evil. . .Eve was emboldened since she did not feel the immediate signs of God’s displeasure. . . As soon as Eve disobeyed she became a powerful medium through which to occasion the fall of her husband. . .Adam’s love for Eve was strong and in utter discouragement he resolved to share her fate. . . He saw in her no signs of death. . . Adam and Eve both ate and the great wisdom they obtained was the knowledge of sin and a sense of guilt. . . Our first parents chose to believe the words of a serpent; yet he had given them no tokens of his love. He had done nothing for their happiness and benefit.” Shouldn't this be a stark reality to us that the devil does nothing for our good--but only for our destruction?
