The Story of Redemption....3

"Through Christ a door of hope was opened, that man should not be under the absolute control of Satan. Faith in the merits of the Son of God so elevates man that he can resist the devices of Satan." Never think that you have reached a place of hopelessness. You have never gone too far for God to forgive you. There's nothing that this world can give you that can compare with the love, joy, peace, patience, forgiveness, hope, grace, and comfort that God gives so freely. Won't you give your life to Him today? He's waiting for you with open arms. He knows everything about you and He loves you just the same. There's no one else that compares to Him. Let Him come into your heart. You will never regret that you did. The Story of Redemption, Pgs. 37, 39-40

Matchless Charms....3

"It is not necessary for us deliberately to choose the service of the kingdom of darkness in order to come under its dominion. We have only to neglect to ally ourselves with the kingdom of light. If we do not cooperate with the heavenly agency's, Satan will take possession of the heart, and will make it his abiding place. The only defense against evil is the indwelling of Christ in the heart through faith in His righteousness. Unless we become vitally connected with God, we can never resist the unhallowed effects of self-love, self-indulgence, and temptation to sin. We may leave off many bad habits, for the time we may part company with Satan; but without a vital connection with God, through the surrender of ourselves to Him moment by moment, we shall be overcome. Without a personal acquaintance with Christ, and a continual communion, we are at the mercy of the enemy, and shall do his bidding in the end." DA324

"Therefore the indwelling of Christ and righteousness by faith are again tied together and are presented here as an explanation of each other."

The Story of Redemption ....2

"Eve separated from her husband. . .When she became aware of the fact she felt that there might be danger, but again she thought herself secure. She had wisdom and strength to know if evil came, and to meet it. This the angels had cautioned her not to do. . .She was startled to hear a serpent speak. . .She was amazed, for she knew that God had not given the power of speech to the serpent. . .Eve’s curiosity was aroused. Instead of fleeing from the spot, she listened. . .That strange voice should have driven her to her husband’s side. . .But instead she entered into a controversy with the serpent. . . Satan’s special work is to lead men to pry into the secrets of the Almighty and to not be satisfied with what God has revealed, and to not be careful to obey what God has commanded. . . It was not God's will that Adam and Eve should have any knowledge of evil. He had freely given them good but withheld evil. . .Eve was emboldened since she did not feel the immediate signs of God’s displeasure. . . As soon as Eve disobeyed she became a powerful medium through which to occasion the fall of her husband. . .Adam’s love for Eve was strong and in utter discouragement he resolved to share her fate. . . He saw in her no signs of death. . . Adam and Eve both ate and the great wisdom they obtained was the knowledge of sin and a sense of guilt. . . Our first parents chose to believe the words of a serpent; yet he had given them no tokens of his love. He had done nothing for their happiness and benefit.” Shouldn't this be a stark reality to us that the devil does nothing for our good--but only for our destruction? Overwhelmed?

Just a little reminder that I saw on Facebook lately.
In order to know God we have to spend time with Him. And a wonderful blessing that comes with that time with Him - is peace!!! Praise the Lord!!

Feeling Lost....

I am feeling a little lost lately. Like blowing in the wind a bit. It's tough to feel this way, but I don't feel any certain direction I am suppose to go at this point. So for now I just have to wait in the hall...as it is said.

So why am I feeling lost? Well there are several reasons and I won't go into all the details of everything but I will share the biggest reason why I am feeling a bit lost.

During 2020 shut down of churches - I found an awesome church that after a month of being shut down - realized that they were called to "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together..." in Hebrews 10:25. They began holding services again. I was SO happy to hear this. Not only did they open their doors for anyone who wanted to worship the Lord with fellow believers - they allowed FREEDOM... I loved that there was freedom to care for myself how I felt necessary. You all know my stand on the issue- there should not be any - "You can not come into church unless you...." what ever it may be. They church I had been going to had hoops to jump through to enter the church. So when I found one who not only had not forsaken gathering together, but allowed me freedom to worship without a mask I was beyond thankful.

There was a couple named Bill and Susan who went to this church. They had basically mentored me in my learning about the importance of surrendering my life to Jesus. It was great to have people to sit with. My husband does not go to church with me. He has not for several years now. So I go to church alone. And it is challenging to go by myself sometimes. When I had Bill and Susan to sit with - I felt like I belonged. But it looks like they will not be going to this church any more- it looks like they will be attending another of our churches in the area. So without them there - I am feeling a bit lost. I really like a lot of the people at church but for some reason - probably an attack from the adversary  spoken of in 1 Peter 5:8.

Anyway so I just don't know for sure what I will be doing. And that is one of the reasons why I am feeling a little lost lately. I am praying and asking God to guide me in the direction I should go. I am thankful that it is a situation in which I don't have to make any particular decisions right now. I can take my time. But it does cause a bit of feeling lost. And it does not feel good to feel lost. It feels so much better when you know what you are suppose to do and doing it. But not knowing - that is uncomfortable.

I just wanted to share about this here just in case there were others out there feeling lost in life right now.

Being in God's will is the best place to be. I just have to figure out what God's will is. Please pray that God will reveal His will in my life and that I will clearly see the direction I should go. Thank you so much! :O)

Best Deal

My Best Deal this week - is a great book. A good friend of mine recommended this great book several weeks ago and I was so happy to find it at the little thrift store that I enjoy going to. The one that I love working in the book area.

To be honest the prices at this thrift store have gone up. I guess prices everywhere seem to be going up. But I find some of the greatest book at this thrift store - so it is worth the little extra money. Especially when you compare to the new prices.
This book - would have cost me $19.99.
But....
I got this book for $1.50

Freebie Friday

This is one of my favorite Freebie Friday find! Last week in the free box was this awesome GE alarm clock! I loved the look of it.

I love that it is set up to actually set 2 different alarms - and then then you can just choose the alarm that works best for that day, instead of having to change the time around each time. Makes life a lot easier.
Plus the stations I listen to come in a lot clearer than with my old alarm clock. And that is really nice!

So this is one of my favorite Freebie Friday items!

Have you been blessed to get anything free lately? I would love to hear about it! :O)

The Story of Redemption ......1

"The tree of knowledge was placed in the garden to be a pledge of Adam and Eve's obedience and love for God. . .God would not compel them to obey. . .They were moral agents, free to obey or disobey. . . Satan purposed to do Adam and Eve harm, and it was

necessary for them to be guarded. . .Satan could not harm them while they yielded obedience to God’s command. . .In perfect obedience they were safe, and this fallen foe could then have no power to deceive them. . .Satan could have access to them only at the tree of knowledge of good and evil." Matchless Charms ....1

Today we are starting a new series. It will be a series of quotes from the book I am currently reading. Please remember that I just pick out some really great quotes here and there and that the entire book is well worth the read. I will be looking for another copy - because I would love to give a copy away. So if you are interested in a copy of this book just leave a message and let me know. :O)

***********************************************************************************

"The present message - justification by faith - is a message from God; It bears the divine credentials, for its fruit is unto holiness. Some who greatly need the precious truth that was presented before them, we fear did not receive its benefit. They did not open the door of their hearts to welcome Jesus as a heavenly guest, and they have suffered great loss." RH

Justification by faith as presented then is opening the door of the heart to welcome Jesus as a heavenly guest. This is truly a much different understanding than we hear in all the discussion of the methods of justification. But it is surely harmonious with Righteousness by Faith in Christ, when one sees the righteous life of Christ as matchless charms.. When our admiration of Him and His character is so great we quite naturally want to embrace Him, receive Him and be like Him. We love Him, adore Him, and worship Him; And He takes possession of our affections and lives in our heart."
Quote from
"The Matchless Charms of Christ"

"Matchless charms"- another way to say the righteousness of Christ. When we uplift Jesus - people are drawn to Him! 💝

More/Less

Yes- you are being shaped.
Over the last year and a half I have seen so much manipulation being done and sadly I am seeing people change from who they were at the beginning of this mess.
If we are to change- let it be to be more and more changed into the likeness of Jesus Christ!
And that happens by beholding Him- we can only behold Him by spending time in His precious presence! 💗🙏💗

Garden Harvest

So sadly these beautiful photos with the cherry tomatoes are from a couple of weeks ago. Most of my plants ended up with blight and I had to pull them. I have new plants that I will be planting in the garden soon but I only have 3 plants that are not harvesting many tomatoes - So will probably be pulling them soon as well.

But lucky for me - Okra has been very faithful! I have to pick it every other day - sometimes every day! It is a great crop here in the hot Texas summers.
And this year was the first time to grow Butternut squash - but I have been pretty pleased with it. I got about 6 total butternut squash - and I think I would have got more had I planted them earlier.

I am back to getting jalapeños - which is nice.

And I have swiss chard- yellow and red, kale, and malibar spinach as well!

This year I have enjoyed my garden more than any year before - because I finally started learning and trying new things. It has been a joy! I look forward to many more things to learn and help improve my garden! :O)

Freebie Friday

So here are a few of the items I got this week for my Freebie Friday post. These kids sized Dickie cups and a plastic container without a lid - no problem- especially since what I planned to do with it - did not require a lid.

So I had these adorable butternut squash plants that I needed to up-pot.

So I got some potting soil and I filled my cups up half way and then I pulled my little plants out of their cells and placed them on top of soil and added more soil and then pressed it in.
I have some solo cups that I use for this up potting usually but the more I garden the more cups I need some these 6 free cups came in handy. Oops - I forgot to mention that I took a drill with a drill bit - and I drilled some hole into the bottom of the cups, before I added the soil. You have to have a way for the water to drain.

Here are my lovely butternut squash plants in their new homes.

I am hoping it cools off some soon so that the next move can be into the ground, but if not I will up- pot these into the large Dickie cups if need be.

So there you have it my Freebie Friday post! I have 2 more awesome items to share with you but you will need to keep checking in the next couple of weeks. I just don't have the time to post about them right now,

Another Silver Lining

So I had done a series on silver linings from Covid. Well there had been another one that I have noticed.

So you all know that for a while I was volunteering at the little thrift store in a two nearby? I really enjoyed it and it was very hard for me to have to quit volunteering there. But over the last several weeks of me going there - I have come to realize that it is probably a good thing that I am no longer volunteering there.

Just a couple of little stories to make my point.

One day as I walked up to look at the things outside - the lady that runs the thrift store and one of the main worker in the back room - were standing outside - looking across the street at the dumpster that belongs to the church associated with this thrift store. Sometimes random people like to dump their trash there - and so if these ladies catch someone dumping they usually will say something to them. Well this time as they were watching they realized that the man was going through the stuff in the trash can. The lady that runs the thrift store - said oh that is fine - as long as he is not trying to dump anything. The lady from the backroom said in a really rude tone - "that is disgusting." And there were several other situations where some very ugly attitudes were demonstrated.

Then just last week as I was looking in the book section several of the ladies were sitting in the office talking about one of their past workers, a lady who it was very obvious that she was a bit special ed. They sat in the office talking about her for at least 5-10 minutes. And of course they could be heard by almost everyone in the store. It made me so uncomfortable -probably because after I left - I am sure there were discussions about me.

Anyway - so my point is that there was some negative attitudes about things and such that I would not want to be around all the time. And as have been confronted with these situations - I have realized that it is a blessing that I am not there.

Now before I end this - I have to say that there are some very nice people there and a majority of the time they are probably good to work with. And if I were asked to return to volunteering there - I would probably say - yes - but would probably only volunteer 1 day a week. I have picked up so many other things that I enjoy doing - that I cant devote 3 days there anymore. And the reason I would say yes- is to work in the book section.

I had worked so hard to get the book sections looking nice. And by the way this is only one sections of the books. Its about all this bad. It is sad. And when I am there - I try to do a bit of organizing but - it would truly need hours of someone working on it to get it back in shape, but this is why I would say yes- if asked to go back.

You May Want To Keep One On Hand

Sunday afternoon my husband started feeling sick. He was running a low grade temperature and started having diarrhea. Then he began to feel nauseous. Then before bedtime he threw up. And was up several times over night with throwing up. Now these were not the symptoms I had with Covid, but when I looked up the symptoms of covid - these were some of the symptoms. So thankfully I had a test left over for him to take. Thankfully he was negative.

Here is a photo of the test that we have used. It is from Walmart and runs just under $20.00 for 2 tests.

I am thankful that we had that test on hand - otherwise I would have felt the need to get out and hunt down a test for him. By having one at your home - you can take the test without getting out.

I am sorry if I had already posted about this -back when I was sharing things helpful to have for Covid. But I do feel it is very important information for everyone to have.

I hope you all are staying well. Get some sunshine, fresh air, exercise and plenty of rest. Take Vit. C, D3 and zinc. All these things and more are great natural ways to boost the immune system and well worth doing - especially in the times we are living in.

Could Our Eyes Be Opened....

Every association of life calls for the exercise of self-control, forbearance, and sympathy. We differ so widely in disposition, habits, education, that our ways of looking at things vary. We judge differently. Our understanding of truth, our ideas in regard to the conduct of life, are not in all respects the same. There are no two whose experience is alike in every particular. The trials of one are not the trials of another. The duties that one finds light are to another most difficult and perplexing.

So frail, so ignorant, so liable to misconception is human nature, that each should be careful in the estimate he places upon another. We little know the bearing of our acts upon the experience of others. What we do or say may seem to us of little moment, when, could our eyes be opened, we should see that upon it depended the most important results for good or for evil. MH 483.1 - MH 483.2

I do have a couple of great ideas for some blog posts that I look forward to some time this week to get them all typed out and posted. I also have been blessed to get a few great finds for Freebie Friday posts! And I have a post for best deal Sunday. So hopefully I can get those posts all done this week. Until then I hope you all are well. God bless each one of you in a special way! :O)

God Has A Law Because...

"God has a law because there is, in actual fact, a right way of doing things and a wrong way. The right way is right because it sustains life. The wrong way is wrong because it destroys life. There is absolutely no arbitrary element in God character. Things are the way they are because they are, by very nature, that way, and must be that way in order for life to flourish. Do not hear God saying, "If you sin, I'll kill you; but if you do things My way, I'll let you live." Rather, hear Him speak the true reality of the matter: "If you pursue sin, it will destroy you; but if you turn to Me and embrace My love, that love will restore and sustain you for all eternity. God's law=love =life.

Sin=selfishness=death."
~Ty Gibson in his book - "See With New Eyes~ the true beauty of God's character"
