Best Deal - This Rarely Happens!

So an awesome thing happened a couple of weeks ago at a local Goodwill store. I had finished looking through the clothes and started looking elsewhere and picked up the box below - "Splash EZ" and looked over the box and all of a sudden I realized that this was something that I had in my Amazon wish list!
During the summer I had seen this cute little wading pool and I had thought it would be awesome for our new little grandsons! And so I had added it to my wish list. I had hoped to find it on sale sometime throughout the year. Well I found it for even a better deal than what Amazon would ring it up for! I was thrilled! I look forward to such times of finding things I really want to get but just don't really want to pay full price!

 The price I paid?

$3.29!!!

What a Deal!!!

Prayer Requests Please

Just have a minute or two for a quick check in. A lot going on around here. I am hoping to up date soon. I have a quick prayer request.

  • My husband has a mri of the brain this afternoon. Please pray that there is nothing seriously wrong.
  • Please also pray for my Dad- he is experiencing extra spinal fluid which is causing all sorts of issues. Thankful they have figured that part out - now hoping he can get in to see a neurologist and get this issue fixed soon.
  • Also please pray for my Step-dad- has had some samples removed from his face- Dr thinks it could be skin cancer- please pray that this will be able to be easily resolved. His follow up appointment isn't set till April - please pray that if this is cancer they can move this up and deal with this issue.
Thank you so much for the prayers for my family. I am thinking there are other prayer requests but just don't have more time to add. Please just cover my family in prayers for healing and wisdom.

I just want you to know that I am praying for you. I may not know your specific needs and issues - but God does and He is not stuck in a box unable to help. He knows what is going on and He is working - even if we do not always see it. I lift up the readers of my blog often. God hears and He answers. Praise to Him!!! :)

Psalms 73:26

"My flesh and my heart may grow weak, But God always protects my heart and give me stability."

Psalms 73;26 NET Bible

"My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever." KJV

Strength ~ Literally, "Rock"

* "God gives courage to live in the midst of our problems and in spite of our questions, and He helps us to carry on, Furthermore, He gives eternal life. "  Note in Andrews Study Bible for this verse.

* "Portion. Not friends, or honor, or wealth, or any earthly thing, but God was the source of the Psalmist's happiness. God was his all in all. Prompted by this verse, Charles Wesley (1707-1788), on his death bed, dictated to his wife one of his 6,500 hymns, in which appear the words 'Jesus,...strength of my failing fleas and heart.' "  SDA Bible Commentary for Ps. 73:26

"My mind and body may fail, but You are my strength. All I really need is You."
~ Psalms 73:26 The Clear Word Bible

"My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the Rock and firm Strength of my heart and my Portion forever."

~ Psalms 73:26 The Amplified Bible

Life can be tough. Sometimes we face difficult situations. But it is SO good to know that we have a God who is our Rock! HE is our strength. He is all we need!! Praise be to God for being our portion forever!!

Jeremiah 15:16

"Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by they name, O LORD God of hosts." Jeremiah 15:16 KJV

"Bread of God needed for our souls. We are not to encourage a spirit of enthusiasm that brings zeal for a while, but soon fades away, leaving discouragement and depression. We need the bread of life that comes down from heaven to give life to the soul. Study the Word of God. Do not be controlled by feeling. All who labor in the vineyard of the Lord must learn that feeling is not faith. To be always in a state of elevation is not required. But it is required that we have firm faith in the Word of God as the flesh and blood of Christ.

Those who do the work of the Lord in our cities must close and bold the doors firmly against excitement and fanaticism. The Word of God is our sanctification and righteousness, because it is spiritual food. To study it is to eat the leaves of the tree of life. Nothing is more uplifting to God's servants than to teach the Scriptures just as Christ taught them. The Word of God contains divine nourishment, which satisfies the appetite for spiritual food". - Letter 17,1902

This is the reason why I like to read verses in several different versions:

"When your words came to me, I ate them with joy They were the delight of my heart. I accepted them because I wanted to bear your name and be known as yours."  Jeremiah 15:16

Isn't that beautifully stated?! I am so that that we not only have the freedom to have a Bible but that we have the availability of so many different great resources to help as we study the Bible. Such a blessing from God!

Today our oldest Grandchild/Granddaughter turns 13 years old!! Time really does fly. It seems like it was just several years ago, but oh so much has happened in those 13 years. In just a couple of weeks our youngest grandson will turn 1! Wow! That year has gone quickly as well!!

Interesting Facts About Worship

"Man is by nature a worshiping being. He will worship, and both the Scriptures and human experience shows that he becomes like what he worships..... The worship of the Creator produces a noble and beautiful character in contrast to degeneration, ignorance, superstition, sensuality, which result from the worship of anything but the true God."

Meade MacGuire in his book "The Life of Victory" an excellent book!

Best Deal

Good Morning! I hope you all are doing well. :O)

Today's best deal is an awesome one! I love finding great Tupperware things at thrift stores. And to be honest ever since 2020 there really hasn't been very many Tupperware pieces out there, that I have found anyway. So imagine my delight when I found this great piece!!!

Now some people call any plastic storage container - tupperware. I do NOT. There is a huge difference between you average plastic container and Tupperware! This stuff lasts a LONG time. I have things that I won from having a Tupperware party just before I got married 34 years ago and it is still in excellent shape, and Yes I use them often!!
This holds 8 1/2 cups!

On Ebay this size runs $18 plus dollars
I paid $2.00!!
What a great deal!!

Hope I find a great deal to share with you next week!

A Tip to Stay on Task

So last Saturday evening I was working on writing out a list of things I wanted to accomplish on Sunday. At first it didn't seem like I had much to do but as I sat there writing things out I realized I had quite the list of things I wanted to achieve for the week.

I learned long ago that I do much better when I have a list of things I want to get done. When I think of things I want to do but don't have time to do at the time of thinking of them - I will write them down on my long term to do list.

Each day I have a to do list when I write down some basic things I do every day. And then I add what ever other jobs I need to do or want to do. Throughout the day I will mark of things I have already done and check the list for what else I need to do. This helps keep me on task.

There have been many times that I will finish a job and think that I don't have anything else that needs to be done but thankfully I will go check my list and realize things I had forgotten about. Had I not had a list I would not have accomplished half as much of what I accomplish with a list.

Anyway I wanted to share this tip with you guys just in case it would help you. Just as setting goals for the year helps you accomplish more-  setting daily goals or keeping a to do list daily helps keep you moving and getting things done. How else are you going to see in a tangible way what all you are accomplishing each day, week, or year.

Hope you all are doing good. ::o)

My Best Deal and A New Favorite Artist

Since I have not been able to keep up a lot of posts for the week - I decided to change my Best Deal Posts to Mondays. This way my posts are spread out a bit. :O)

So today's Best Deal - is a special one! It is the one where I share about finding a favorite artist.
Again - I found this at the little thrift store nearby.

I have learned when looking through Thrift Stores it is best to take your time and go back and check out an area you think you have already checked out. I have been lucky several times lately in fact by doing this. This was one of those times. I found this beautiful piece of art work!!!
Because of the glass and not having the best lighting in my bathroom - it was super hard to get a good photo of this beauty. So that is why I am sharing 2 different photos of it.

When I picked it up I knew I loved it but I had NO idea where I would put it and realized that I was at a point where in order to put something new up - I would have to take something down. But that did not stop me. No, I loved this enough to trade it out with something less loved.

Once I got home I took  a photo of photo of the artists name - so I could enlarge it to see it.

There was a tag on the back of this that had price tag of $9.99
How much did I pay?
$1.00!!
What a Deal!!

Paul de Longpre`

Click on his name if you would like to go to wikipedia and read about him. You can also google images of his work. I will now be on the lookout for other art work by him. I am sure I can find more copies of his work if I just keep and eye out - and be willing to spend a bit more for them. At thrift stores you can get great prices - but when something is really pretty - they usually want a bit more $$ - but if I know if it by this artist and I love the artwork - I just might spend the extra money for it!

Just a little information I found on line I thought I would share.

He is known for being a painter of flowers which is why I love his artwork so much!!

So he is now on my list of favorite artists which also includes Thomas Kinkade, The Painter of Light.

My favorite artists:
*Paul de Longpre` the painter of flowers!
*Thomas Kinkade the "Painter of Light!

Who are your favorite artists?

Happy New Year....and goals?

Happy New Year! I hope you all have have a great day! Our weather here was so beautiful - highs in the upper 70's with plenty of sunshine. So I took advantage of the great weather and I was able to get the yard mowed and my garden area cleaned up and mowed and weed-eated. Felt great to finally get that stuff done.

I have spent a bit of time today thinking about what goals I want to set for this new year. I know many people avoid setting goals- because of failures in the past. But here is what I think, it is better to set goals and fail to achieve them than to not set goals and just stay where you are....stagnant.

See if you don't set goals for yourself you may not even know what steps you need to take. Once you realize you have goals you want to achieve then you can logically think through what it will take to reach that goal.

Seldom do we move forward in any area of our lives without a little effort to do so. So in order to grow- it is best to set goals and think of the steps that need to be taken to reach these goal. Maybe set mini goals and rewards to help you stay on track.

This week I am hoping to look back on last years goals and see how I did. And then I am hoping to be able to sit down and get some goals written out. And a plan set up to achieve these goals.

If you have not had much success in reaching the goals you have set for yourself in the past- I would like to suggest that you set some easy to reach goals. Once you have reached a goals or two - You will feel more confidant to work towards your bigger goals.

It's been a great day and it feels good to have gotten my yard cleaned up. And now I think I will spend some time reviewing past goals and think about new goals to set. Hope you will join me in setting some goals. It is best to set goals and set yourself up to grow. :O)
