Your life is a bed of roses all the time...REALLY?



Have you ever noticed that there are some people on Facebook and some bloggers who are always bragging about how wonderful their lives are. According to what they say you would think that life was a bed of roses. 
I understand that we need to praise God for the wonderful blessings that he bestows on us. And I also understand that it is best that we are not all gloom and doom all the time either. But being real is most important. 
Our story - our experience is much more valuable when we can be honest about the hard times we have had. Then those around us can more relate to us. 
Through our weakness = God's strength is shown. God's strength and glory are revealed more when we are honest and open about the difficult times in our lives. The Bible tells us that we will have trials and tribulation - but we are not to let it bother us because Jesus Christ has overcome the world. 
Through our weakness - His strength is shown. May we be willing to show our weakness so that the glory of God's strength is more fully shown. 

    "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

  1. Personally, I am blessed when people share their blessings, when they live out this verse:"... whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

    I don't believe it's that their life is a bed of roses, but rather, God's power should make us brave and joyful no matter what's going on because we *trust* Him. As a child, we trust that God, like a father, will make everything ok. And in the meantime--we can live in real joy, for His joy is our strength.

    Complaining to others is not strength. Fear is not godly nor is worry. They are not results of trust.

    And what if people *are* being real? What if they are in a wonderful season and are just plain grateful for it?

    Or what if they so trust God that they no longer worry or complain, but rather, spill over with gratitude for the good things?

    Yes, no one is fine all the time, but you know? The closer we get to God, the less often we will complain about negative people or our circumstances. The wiser we will become and thus avoid unnecessary problems. The less we will worry about our loved ones or hard times.

    I am happy for others when they rejoice. I believe that's as God would have it. And it blesses me to see others mature and go through their trials still praising God, still talking about His goodness and still believing that in time, all will be well.

    I know many people like that who are as real as it gets. That's really who they are. 'Rejoicers.'
