Importance of Checking Prices of Things at Different Stores

Ok - this information was added to my "Cookbook Worthy" post - but I wanted to do another post - just in case someone misses the other information.

The bag of Key limes that my son had bought was a 1 pound bag. From that 1 pound bag - we were able to make 3 batches of Limeade.
Today I went to a different store and I found a 2 pound bag of them for $1.48 - And we should be able to get about 6 batches- at least- of Limeade.
Just one example of the importance to check prices at different stores.

  1. This is such a great reminder. It's amazing how much money we can save by price checking different stores :)

  2. For the longest time - everyone I knew talked at how much they loved HEB(a grocery store) well when a new one was built in another town nearby - I finally went to check it out - after the newness wore off. And I have been pleasantly surprised. I still shop at Walmart half the time - but there are some deals at HEB that can't be beat. So I just shop here sometimes and there other times. In todays economy - you kind of have to. :O)
