We can reverse the damage that has been done by a poor diet!
As I have shared in earlier post - our genes do play a little role in our health. It is kind of like this - our genes just point the gun at us - it is our behavior is the deciding factor as to whether the trigger is pulled. Lots to think about just with that one example.
There was a study done with 2 groups of mice. One group got 20% casein and the other group got 5% casein. Well the group that had 20% had a rise in cancer and the group at only 5% seemed to do really well with no increase in cancer. Then after a while the Scientist wanted to try something different -so they switched the groups and gave the 20% group only 5% and there cancer decreased - and the 5% group that got switched to 20% had an increase in Cancer. Showing that even if there was cancer that by lowering the animal products - could help cancer decrease. I thought this was very cool.
In 12 out of 14 medical studies showed a link between Cheese and Prostate Cancer.
Now for some good news:
Just 5 Almonds a day can reduce death by coronary disease by 50%! Isn't that great news!!
Exercise is just like a miracle drug. Exercising reverses your aging process. It lowers your chance of cancers and heart disease. Not to mention that it will help you sleep better. And it will give you more energy. There are so many positive things about exercise that they way out weigh any negative. You can find time here and there throughout your day. It does not all have to be together. Another thing that is important - is to work on balance - like stand on one leg for a little while - then switch to the other leg. At first you may want to stand by a table or chair to be able to catch your self is you lose your balance.
Dr. B said that a fellow Dr that he knows says that may people spend their last 20 years just "circling the drain". I don't want to be one of those. I want to take care of myself so I can enjoy life as long as possible. How about you? :O)
