Keeping Busy

Well I have had a few projects going on to keep me busy. First of all - I have ALWAYS wanted to have birds. Well it looks like soon that will be a reality for me. We found a great cage at a friends garage sale and got it for a really good deal. Only problem is that she had accidentally thrown the drawer out. So my husband made us one and then we used contact paper to cover the wood. We have cleaned the cage us really well and we have gotten a few little things for the cage. Today my husband, Jason got it hung up for us.

Then I began a challenging job. I needed to figure out how to make a cover for the large cage. After talking out a few ideas - I finally decided on the best way to make the cover. We took the measurements needed and this evening I got to work. I still need to sew some Velcro so I can Velcro the front and back panels to the side panels. I think it turned out quite nice. And I love the retro fabric that I used. I had bought this old sheet a year or so ago. Love it.

What have you lovely ladies been up to during this hot, hot weather. Speaking of - today what the hottest day of 2013 so far- 105. And believe me - it was hot. We had to get out in it - we had to go pick up photos of SweetPea and her Daddy that we had taken professionally. I will share more about that tomorrow. See ya then. :o)
