Thankful For Blessings

This morning when I let my chickens out - I tossed out scraps like I always do. The chickens checked out what I threw out and then came running to me to see what else they could get. All of a sudden it hit me- isn't that the way we are as children of God. He throws out blessings on us and instead of being thankful for what he has bestowed on us - it's like we go running to Him to see what other blessings we can get.


So I am going to try to be more thankful for the blessings that He gives. And be satisfied with the things that He chooses to bless me with.

So I will go ahead and share a few more things that I am thankful for:

I am really thankful for my pets - my cats and my chickens.
These chickens have taught me so many lessons - and I am thankful for that as well. That God uses these chickens to teach me lessons that I need to learn. I love to watch them - it is relaxing to watch them too.


I am thankful for my job.
It is not what I really thought I would be doing with my life at this point but it is a way for me to be able to make extra money and I am able to help my MIL. For those of you who do not know- I work at my MIL's bakery a couple of days a week. And we are entering into the time of year that I have ALOT more work. We put our order forms out today and we already had an order for 2 pies before I left work. Oh and here is something that I am praying about - my MIL has an infection and might have to have a surgery. I am praying that if she has to have the surgery that God will give me the strength and ability to get all the stuff done. Usually with the two us of we have a lot of work-sometimes more than we can really handle- but if she has to have the surgery - then I may be left to do it on my own. I know that God will not give me more than I can handle.


I am thankful for my Bibles.
There are people around the world who do not have a Bible and would give anything to be able to have on. How often we take for granted the fact that not only can we have a Bible we have the freedom to read it.
