It does not take long, while listening to the media, to realize that it seems that the majority seems to be going after the world. Many times the loudest voices come from those who have no desire for God in their lives. But remember that just because the voices might be loud does not always mean they are right.
Just imagine the scene with me: Jesus bound, a crown of thorns has been thrust down upon His head- blood is running down His face and down His back from the beatings He has received. Pilate asks the people who they want released(it was a custom at Passover for a prisoner to be released) "Barabbas," they yelled. Pilate asks "What do you want done with Jesus?" "Crucify Him." The crowd is stirred by the prince of darkness and his demons, loudly they proclaim what they want. In this crowd, there are those who remember all of the wonderful things that Jesus has done- all those he healed, the thousands he fed with just a few loaves and fish, how He had raised people from the dead.
The loud voices may have won the temporal victory, but on Sunday morning(after Jesus rested on the Sabbath day) when Jesus Christ was raised from the dead - He was victorious!!He broke the hold that sin had on our world. No longer was the world doomed to the fate of the prince of darkness. Sin had been overcome by the blood of the lamb - Jesus Christ.
And the Good News is.....
