Thrifted Outfits

This is a repeat outfit. Sadly it does not have tags so there is no way of knowing the brand of this dress. I paid $5.00 for it. I love this dress for its versatility - I can wear it during the summer as is and then when it gets cold - I have several jackets that I can wear with it. That makes it a great piece to have in my closet!

Total outfit cost $5.00

Thrifted Outfits

Today's Thrifted Outfit features something I bought back in 2016 and something I bought about 2 weeks ago. Back in 2016, when Goodwill was doing a Midnight Madness sale - a 50% sale just every few months, my sister and I took advantage of the sale and hit a few stores. This white shrug was one of the items I bought during that trip. This is actually the very first time I have had the opportunity to wear it. And I love it!!

White shrug - Cato brand - 50% off $4.49- I paid $2.25
Dress - Sonoma - NWOT- it was originally marked $6.99- I got it for 50% off - I paid $3.50

Total outfit cost ~ $5.75

Both of these pieces were really blessing from God. Sometimes it is challenging to find great things at thrift stores. So when I find pieces that seem almost new - or I can tell they are new because of having the inspection stickers still attached to the tags- I am extremely grateful!

Oh and one of the best things about this dress - is that it has pockets!!!
I love pockets!! Have I mentioned that before?!

The only thing that I would change about this dress for me to like it more is I would add some to the length - I do prefer longer dresses. Oh well - stepping out of my comfort zone every now and then helps keep me on my toes.

Thrifted Outfits

This past Sabbath the weather was over cast and actually rainy a good part of the day. I took advantage of the cooler weather and wore this top that I found about a month ago. It is a favorite for sure!

We have been blessed with about 3 inches of rain over the past several days! We have been in desperate need of rain. We have big cracks in our yard - both front and back.

Ok - onto the outfit of the week:

G Collection top paid $5.45
Ashley Stewart skirt- $0 - given to me

Total outfit cost~ $5.45

If my plan for next Sabbaths outfit stays the same- you will get to see the new dress I found for $3.00 !! Be sure and come back to see it!

Thrifted Outfits

Today's Thrifted Outfit features what I wore to church last Sabbath.
Believe it or not you can find brand new items at thrift stores and at Goodwill. This is a prime example of a brand new item. It even had the tags on it- NWT.
Some items you can tell are brand new based on the inspection stickers still being attached to the tags - these are called new without tags - NWOT.

This Faded Glory Dress was NWT - I paid $5.79

What a great deal on an outfit!
$5.79!

Thrifted Outfits

It seems that sometimes we can get into ruts - where we wear the same outfits all the time. You find a great outfit and so you wear it that way. But a fun way to mix up your wardrobe a bit is to change out what you wear with what. This weeks Thrifted Outfits outfit is just that case. I paired this top with a different skirt than I usually do and I like the out come. I have sure gotten a lot of use out of this skirt this year.
Here are the facts about the pieces worn:

Top~ Rafaelle Woman - I bought this top in April in 2017 for $3.93
Skirt~ Venezia - I bought before 2016 - for an estimated 4.99

Total Outfit cost= 8.92

July has been a very busy month. I did not even hardly get a chance to get other outfit photos. In August I have at least one if not two appointments to take my mother-in-law to the Dr and should be able to get photos then. So I will try to get those to post. And I will try to do at least 2 Sabbath Thrifted Outfits per month. I have enjoyed writing up these type posts. It is something different and I hope enjoyable to you as well.

Thrifted Outfits..... Sabbath Attire

So this Sabbath I wore a dress that I bought from my sister. It does not have a tag so I have no idea the brand or size but it fits well and the fabric feel lovely. The kind of fabric that flows.

Dress~ $4.00

Total outfit cost~ $4.00

I am wearing a new pair of shoes. I have had the hardest time finding shoes that fit my wide width feet and that were comfortable. I have found a great brand that does both - WhiteMt. shoes! Love them! These I found on ebay- I spent just over $20.00 on them but think that it is money well spent. I have spent too many years wearing shoes that were not comfortable and just having a couple of pairs.

Believe me, I will be on the look out for shoe in this brand! Hoping I can find some more!! :O)

Thrifted Outfits...Errand Day

Today's outfit involves a piece that I found at the consignment store that I sell my clothes at. Every so often I go there and I look and see if there is anything that I can't live without. The prices are a bit higher than what I usually pay- but still much cheaper than shopping retail stores. This top is one that I was not sure if I would like at all, since I have not worn an handkerchief hemmed top before. But I have been happily surprised at how much I like the top. It just goes to show that when new styles come out you might want to at least try it out in a dressing room and see what you think. All you will have lost is a bit of time if you don't like it. But if you do - you have opened another option for yourself!

Top~ French Laundry- $7.99
Capris~ Lee - $4.79

Total Outfit Cost: $12.78

Thrifted Outfits...Spiritual Health Day

First of all I would like to apologize about the quality of the photo today. For some reason I could not get a good quality photo. I think I need to delete some photos from my phone and maybe that would help.

A couple of weeks ago I went to the awards ceremony at my granddaughters school - which is about a 45 minute drive from my house. On the way home I took advantage of being in that area and I stopped by one of the GW in that area. I only found one thing that day but what a great find!

Dress~ Faded Glory Dress - NWT - $5.79

Total Outfit Cost~ $5.79

I have to say I am disappointed in the fact that Walmart no longer carries Faded Glory brand. I have been pretty happy with the quality of their things. And I am afraid that the new line of things will not be as good of quality. The new lines have only been there for what? A month or so? And my sister and I have already seen at least one or two things from the new brand at GW's in this area. People buying something and already getting rid of the item is not a good sign. For now I will just be happy that I continue to find awesome pieces of clothing from the Faded Glory brand as I shop at GW.

Thrifted Outfits... Groceries on a Sunny Spring Day

Many styles today are tops that are quite short, I do not like short tops. I like a good length for my tops. In order to keep them that way I hang dry all my tops. I think it helps them last longer as well. If you too like your tops to stay a decent length then consider hanging them to dry. When the tops come out of the washer I hang them on thick plastic hanger and hang the hangers on my shower rod. It doesn't take long for them to dry. After I wore this top- I accidently put it in the dryer, I am sure hoping that it kept it's length because it was just barely the length I like my tops.

Top~ Woman RXB- $4.49
Capris- Gloria Vanderbuilt - $4.79

Total outfit cost: $9.28

I am sure this is information that most people know - but just in case - when you air dry your tops it is a great idea to use liquid fabric softener.
And by the way my sister and I noticed that I don't tend to have as much issues with my polyester tops clinging together - and I am thinking it is because I use fabric Softener and hang dry. Something to keep in mind.

Thrifted Outfits..Spiritual Therapy

As you know, last week was camp meeting at a church nearby. So Sabbath morning I went to the early service at camp meeting and it just happened that I was able to leave after church and head to my church for church service there.

I found this great denim dress about a week or so ago at the consignment store that I take clothes to sell- this will explain the little bit higher cost than I usually have to pay. But this was such a cute dress I could not pass it up. You may not be able to tell but it has two pockets on the from. I love pockets!!

Dress~ Denim Jazz - $8.99

Total cost~ $8.99

I am also wearing a heart pin that I bought years ago from Avon. I thought the dress needed a bit of dressing up. I think it is a good idea to have a few pins - just in case an outfit needs a bit of something. Just make sure it is something that I really like to you will enjoy wearing it.

And I am wearing my $4.00 shoes. Continuing to be on the look out for some more great shoes.

Thrifted Outfits... Appointment with the Consignment Store

Last week I had an appointment with the local consignment store. I had some clothes that I knew I would not be wearing and decided that it would be best for me to try to sell them instead of holding onto them. That way I could make some money to put towards clothes that I love and will wear. So the top that I am wearing today is actually a top that I bought on a shopping trip after my appointment with my oncologist last week. After that dr visit - a shopping trip is always in order as a reward- if at all possible. Anyway I had not had a chance to wear this top so today was the day. The capris - I found last year and wore quite a bit last year.

I had stopped by the consignment store yesterday to pick up hangers(they like things to be brought in on hangers and provide the hangers if you need them). I found an awesome top - that is red with white and blue embroidery. Anyway when I went in for my appointment today one of the ladies there said - oh you aren't wearing your new red top. Well actually I had thought about saving it to wear on Monday for Memorial Day. So I will try to get a photo of it then - if not - I am sure you will see it soon!

Onto the outfit details:

Top ~ No brand tag - and doesn't look like it ever had one - it had a size tag that told the fabric content on side seem - I paid $4.94
Capris~ Gloria Vanderbuilt -$ 4.79
Total outfit cost: $9.73

Thrifted Outfits...Spiritual Health Day

It is getting HOT here in Texas, in fact, I think summer has arrived. In just a couple of days (probably starting Wednesday) our temperatures will be in the triple digits...ugh...When the temperature gets this warm - I usually stick with sleeveless tops. I am hot natured already and so I am just much more comfortable wearing sleeveless.

Well I drifted off my normal when getting dressed on Sabbath morning because I just recently found this awesome top and just had to wear it before it got any hotter. I am wearing the same skirt I wore last Sabbath. And I am wearing my $1.00 black shoes.

Top~ Just Be - $3.93
Skirts~ Venenzia- $4.79
(although I really think I paid more like $2.99 for this skirt a few years ago)

Total outfit cost= $8.72

Thrifted Outfits....Mental Health Day

Every once in a while my sister plan what we call a Mental Health day....aka - a day of thrift shop shopping! A couple of weeks ago we were able to get away for the day to go shopping. We had a great day and found some awesome things. I believe that was the trip in which we found the adorable denim skirt that has a ruffle at the hem. Anyway here is what I wore for our Mental Health day:

Top~ Roz & Ali I bought this top Aug of 2017- for $4.49
Capri's~ Gloria Vanderbuilt - Also bought Aug of 2017 - $4.79

Total cost for outfit~ $9.28

***************************************
I am sorry that I was not able to get the post up about clothes pins and gardening yet. Hopefully that will be at the beginning of next week - we will see though. I have a couple of other posts that I need to work on before I can get that one written up. Plus last week we got ALOT of rain and my garden has been wet, but it is in great need of weeding-so that will also keep me busy.
