To Know God....series... It's Not Overnight- It's a Process

"John the Beloved walked with Jesus for three years. He knew what it was like to eat with Him, to travel with Him, to touch Him, to help Him with His daily needs. And for three years John bickered and argued with the other disciples about who was to be the greatest. For three yeas he was still the son of thunder. Those who think that conversion and walking with Jesus is suppose to change one completely overnight (and if it doesn't happen, then he doesn't have the genuine experience) had better take a second look at John and Peter and the other disciples. Even in the upper room that night before the crucifixion, they were still scrapping about who was to be the greatest. They knew it was wrong, but they kept doing it, even though they were embarrassed by it. But Jesus treated them kindly, patiently, and even after He had gone back to heaven John and the others continues to walk with Him." page 53-54

This quote reminds me of the verse:

" being confident of this very thing,
that He who has begun a good work in you
will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;"
Philippians 1:6

I love how we are able to study the Bible in order to get to know God better. To see how kind and patient He has been and to know that He is just as patient with us! Praise the Lord! :o)
