Beloved Names of God....series "Amen"

"And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and the true witness, the beginning of the creation of God."
Revelations 3:14 KJV

  • Name of God the Son
  • Jesus is referred to as the "Amen" twice in Revelation.
  • Amen is usually the conclusion to most Judeo-Christian prayers. It translates from the original Hebrew as "verily" or "truly."
  • John was reciting Jesus' warning to the church in Laodicea that He was disappointed by the lack of enthusiasm in their faith. He would prefer they were either "hot or cold."
Laodicea was suffering from lukewarm faith. Laodicea, a thriving metropolis in Asia Minor, a cultural and educational center, was not suffering from plague or drought. No, its condition was much more serious.

Turning the mirror onto this twenty-first century, the parallels between Laodicea and our society are obvious. What Jesus said to the Laodiceans stands today. The Amen(our trustworthy God) is waiting for you to answer His call.
