Tulips
Georgia B. Adams
It took the rains of April and
The sunshine's golden ray
To bring the lovely tulips here,
Along our path today.
They stand so stately and so tall,
The purple, red, and gold;
It makes me wonder how much charm
A single flower can hold.
And then I think of how life's sun
Smiles down on one and all,
How into every human life
A little rain must fall.
We, like the tulips, need to wait
Amidst the driving rain,
To see the beauties that await
When sunbeams smile again.
