She stood in front of the large mirror at the sink. She had just finished washing her hand. She began to comment on what a big mess she had made as she proceeded to clean it up. As she wiped down the counter around the sink and the mirror she shared a bit of her heart with those of us in the bathroom at church. She said she used to always find water splattered marks on counter and on the mirror at home and used to always complain to her husband about what a mess he had made. Sadly now that he has passed - she realizes that it wasn't just Larry who had been making the mess. And you could hear the remorse in her voice as she walked out of the bathroom saying.."It wasn't Larry." Regret for nagging him about being messy. Accepting her part in the situation and wishing she could go back and do it differently. She made a huge impact on me. She gave me something to ponder.
What things are we doing that later - when it is too late to repair the situation -we will regret? Is there a "Larry" in our lives that we may be putting the blame on for something- only to later realize - It wasn't just Larry.
